I made a friend online about a year ago. I came across her blog, Art on the Run, and we have corresponded ever since. I share today's post, which I found, as a writer, hugely inspiring. Often I find my writing to be a close relation of Heather's art. I like her approach.

What This Blog's About
I write memoir. I'm also co-director of Authentic Writing, a program of writing workshops that supports writers who want to write directly from their life without consulting anyone first. I'm also a co-founder of the Wodstock Memoir Festival. I wrote The Guru Looked Good and The Imposters. I post my current writing at Experiments in Memoir. So I think about memoir and what writing is about and I wanted a place to let you know what I think. Maybe it'll spark some back and forth. That'd be interesting.
